So 2a life in 'merica is kinda sucking right now and I shot my last bit of ammo at a match this past weekend. I shoot a 6.5 CM, handloading Hornady 140gn ELDM. I've had projectiles on order since November.... we all know the drill here.
Anyway.... a long while back in my days of ignorance I accidently bought 500 rounds of the old Hornady 140gn match bullets (pre-red plastic tip). They've been collecting dust because I've wanted to stick with what I know works. I'm at the 2,300 or so round mark down the pipe, so a new barrel is happening sooner rather than later, point being, I would rather not do load development this late in the barrels life.
So my question is this, can I use the same recipe that I used for the Hornady 140gn ELD's with the older Hornady 140gn Match BTHP's and simply adjust the BC? Or is this extremely wishful thinking?
