When putting a firearm with a battery operated optic away for awhile, like an Eotech, is it better to remove the battery, also do you fill your magazines full for long periods of time or maybe just put five to ten rounds in them for storage, so you don't weaken the spring. I just want to store things I don't shoot all the time to be stored the best way. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. New kid on the block.

1. Always remove the battery when placing in long-term storage, unless you're interested in buying another of whatever you're storing... ask me how I know...Doh!
2. Compression doesn't weaken good quality spring steel, cycling (loading/unloading in the case of a mag) is what weakens the steel over time, so dealers choice on that one.

EOtech I wouldn't worry about it unless you use it like once every 3 months. Nightvision and expensive LRF equipment, take the battery out as soon as you get home.

Leave your mags loaded. Won't do shit to the spring.
