I am trying to reload my Lapua .308 Palma brass for the frist time and the decapping pin is being pulled out of the die on the up stroke. The pin is stuck in the case's small flash hole. I had to remove the pin manually with a punch. I hope there is an easier way to do this. Please help.

If you are using Redding Dies you need this part # 01057SPL/PI is the .057" depriming pin.

As you found out, the flash hole is small on Lapua Palma brass

Sinclair sells a flash hole reamer to open these up slightly so they'll clear the standard size decapping pin. Or, you can use an appropriate size drill bit in a pin vise and do the same thing.

I called Redding this morning and ordered the .057 decapping pins and they sent them out todays at NO CHARGE. Last week I needed a screw for my NightForce rings and they sent me two at NO CHARGE. What is going? Are companies focusing on improving customer service or do great companies that produce great products always stand behind them?

I use a Lee deprimer die. Pulled the stem out, chucked it in a drill and turned it down a little. Works great in both the Palma and 6.5 Grendel Lapua brass I use. It also works with everything else too. It takes about 5 minutes if you aren't in a hurry.

Yep, great companies do that and more. I once lost my turret caps on my Sightron SIII and emailed Alan Orr to see if I could buy a replacement set. He mailed me out a set muy pronto at no cost to me. CS like that gains customers for life.

I want to get new dies to reload 308 . I have a bunch of once fired Lapua Palma brass. I like redding dies.I want to replace my 30+ year old RCBS competition die set. I am totally flummoxed trying to figure out set up to get for best accuracy? Bushing die full length set? Size of bushing if yes? Small primer hole issue. thanks for any advice!
