Rifle Scopes Problem or no problem

I have a tasco 6x24x44 that is mounted on my Savage MK II, I originally installed it on the factory bases until I could purchase a Rimfire Technology base. I had it mounted on extra high rings, and it was shootable.

Well so today I get my new 25 MOA base and I go to mount the scope on the base with Medium rings, it clears but barely, and when I say barely, I mean like only six pieces of paper will fot between the AO and the barrel. The AO still turns and everything works.

So my problem is: Is this too close to my barrel or will it even make a difference?

It's fine.

Should be fine except that you may have to modify your scope cap/cover to fit.

Actually, that low height over barrel can be an advantage, I believe.

That is how alot of us try to get our scopes. Usualy, the closer the better.

Close to barrel is good

Touching barrel is bad

25MOA base on a 22lr?

I spose you could lob em in there, how far you shooting?
