Problem with my Savage Markii TR

Ok guys your going to think im crazy but im not. This gun is less then a month old i have had it to the range one time. After i got back from the range i wiped it down with oil and had the safety on i wiped inside the trigger guard and the gun dry fired. So for what ever reason now the gun is on safe when the safety is in the fire position and will only fire when the safey is in the safe position. I dont know if i should send it to savage or take it to someone near me. What do you think?

Send it back to Savage. Contact them and they will most likely send you a return tag. That is definitely unsafe.

As Hilbillee said..call Savage and they will issue a pick up from UPS and fix it.

Prepare to do the slap forehead thing.

The safety lever is supposed to cover the fire/safe indicator exposing the actual position. (probably could have explained that better) The fire position is forward and safe is towards the rear. I don't know why Savage did this as the lever doesn't do a very good job at covering the indicators.
