Last time out, my TRG42's trigger lost its 2 stage feature. What I mean by this is that it turned into a heavy single stage trigger, with the trigger locked solidly forward in the cocked position. While this was happening, the safety did not work. If I cycled the bolt a bunch of times, sometimes the 2 stage function would come back, but would be lost again after a few shots. Do I just have to adjust the trigger, or did something break?

You just need to clean it. Flush it with lighter fluid real good and let it air dry. Remember to follow the directions when taking it out and putting it back in. Should do the trick, good luck.

If it dosen't come around after cleaning per jbell adjust it per manual. It's not a big deal and they do EXACTLY what you describe when set too light. If you have to adjust always remove bolt prior then adjust , remove bolt try again until you get it where you want and you have a distinct two stage A very easy job to do.
