I wanted a TRG from the first time I saw one in my late teens. Being mostly a 22LR and 223 shooter, it was hard for me to justify getting more calibers just to punch paper. I got a great deal on a Tikka T3 223 with a 1:8 twist barrel so that I could use the heavier 75's and 77's I use in my AR's.
I never warmed up to the factory stock and magazine on the Tikka, the mag always seemed to have issues not picking up rounds. I started looking around for aftermarket stocks for the Tikka when I noticed that guys were adapting the KRG Whiskey 3 chassis to use TRG furniture on a Tikka Action. It seemed like more time and money than it was worth, but I found a good deal on a full factory Sako TRG 42 Chassis on EBay.
I messaged Justin at KRG and he let me order the "backbone" of the KRG chassis. I've got a pic of it mocked up with the TRG 42 chassis as the KRG backbone is being shipped today. Now I've just got to find a TRG 2 stage trigger and a TRG22 forend and I should be good to go!
