Proof elevation rifle

I picked up their elevation MTR toward the end of March. I had been eyeing it in a 6.5cm for awhile. I got the black paint option but kinda wish now I would have done the tactical camo they do. That aside... the thing shoots incredible. I was already looking at doing a build off an Origin action and it was probably going to have a proof barrel. The more I started looking at the elevation i was realizing that it is basically what i would be building.

I also had an Elevation MTR, just recently sold it here on the PX. I second what kmdn_crew said. It shoots exceptionally well, and is very well built. Fit and finish are excellent. I had the TFDE color, when my FFL dealer called me to tell me it had arrived he said it looked like a work of art. Probably a bit of an overstatement, but if you're looking for a lightweight rifle that can also shoot lights out you won't be disappointed. My selling it had only to do with wanting raise some cash for a different project, nothing at all to do with the rifle itself.

A little more than a year ago I had the chance to shoot one of the Elevation rifles at the range. Was really impressed with how it shot and also the fit and finish was 1st class. This was a 6.5CM and only the one day but I liked it. Shortly after they where supposed to come out with one in 7MM-08 which is what I wanted. Never did find one so ended up basically building a "faux Elevation" times 2:) For a pure lightweight hunting rifle that Proof stock is great IMHO, I was able to get both my builds to be right at 6 lbs naked and around 7 1/2 lbs all up. But I ended up spending more on the builds than the cost of a Elevation which is still a pretty good bargain.

I'm sure you would like it if you had a chance to handle one (y)

You need to go to the dark side, and lighten up those scopes.

I bought my kid a vx-3hd 4.5-14 for the simple reason of it only weighs 13oz. Add 4oz rings, and those 20oz+ scopes are pigs.

I may need one, since the fieldcraft may never be in production again.
