Gunsmithing Proof Pre-Fit + Defiance

I was wanting to hear opinions regarding a build w/ a defiance ruckus action and proof carbon fiber pre fit barrel for ruckus.

A. “Yes, go ahead and do it because it’s proof and defiance and both have tight tolerances, should work well.”
or
B. “no, all pre-fits suck no matter what - have a gunsmith barrel the action as usual for best results.”

What tools are needed / recommended setup to barrel a bolt action?
Recommended brand headspace gauges?

FWIW, my Rukus and PVA shouldered prefit went right together, no dramas.

So, I think the Rukus and a prefit from a decent gunsmith (inc Proof) and you are good to go.

I know very good shooters who use nothing but pre-fits. We're talking one hole shooter, top 5 in a big match level dudes.

I assumed he meant a shouldered prefit since he mentioned the right tolerances.
