Recently got informed that PR doesn’t recommend shooting suppressed on their light sendero contours. Any of you guys doing it? Just chambered up a light sendero in 300wsm and planned on using my TBAC 30P on it

they were very vague. mentioned something about the stiffness of the barrel. Im getting this info second hand from a friend who spoke to them over the phone.

I called and asked them directly. The tech said no safety issues whatsoever. If you were running the barrel hard, you MAY see poi shift. No different than a light contour steel barrel. I went with a sendero lite because I was counting ounces. They’re so close on weight though, if a few ounces didn’t matter, go sendero. I think I saved about 3 oz over the sendero contour. In other words, they aren’t saying don’t do it, they just prefer heavier to lighter if you’re hanging a can off it.

Day before yesterday I shot a 12 round OCW followed by 9 rounds of a separate load with no cooling in between except to record velocities. No shift observed with an Ultra 5 on the end.

It's just a recommendation, but the lighter TBAC's especially should be a non-issue. I have a Sendero contour PROOF and a medium Palma that both regularly get my 9" TBAC 30BA can on them, POI is about the same for both between suppressed and unsuppressed.

Here is the email they sent me. But from what you guys are saying I should have no problem running a TBAC 30P titanium suppressor on my 300wsm with a lite sendero ?

Yes, that is the recommendation they gave me as well quite some time ago. The fact is you can put a suppressor on most any barrel, just realize you're going to have a POI shift whenever you put a suppressor on any barrel, the stiffer the barrel the less the shift (usually). I have a TBAC Ultra 5 (resubmitted for a second time!!!!) in jail but once I get it I will be doing tests to see how the POI changes between that and the 30BA (9" version) I currently own.
