I had a customer who wanted me to build him a 6.5 grendel with a proof research barrel, so he provided the barrel and bolt. He wanted the Clark Custom carbon fiber handguard and a billet slick side upper. We put a nickel boron bolt carrier in with his bolt and shot it today, I was quite impressed with the way it shot and the weight savings. This upper complete with bolt carrier was 3.4lbs.

The guys are Proof Research have a very nice product, but from what I saw on their site, it doesn't come without a price. Great build for a great guy!

I am from MT and Proof is as well. I have considered using them in the future. They are about double what a typical standard barrel costs. I have always wondered on the value of them in the accuracy department compared to a Bartlein, JP, Krieger, Lilja (also a MT company). What kind of accuracy did this one display?

Very nice!!~ I'm also considering a Grendel by proof...Holy smokes that would be a pricey mistake if it turns out a not so accurate barrel if I do.

I only shot it for functionality. I should have been more clear in my comments and should have said, there was no more perceived recoil with the carbon fiber barrel.
I am not sure if you can get any more accurate than the barrels you mentioned above, but if you are watching every ounce it has its place.
