Looking at swapping my stock RPR barrel. So many to choose from, but it looks like Proof Research is out. I cant find anyone with them in stock.
what is your intended purpose sir? Fuck a carbon barrel if you are not hunting with it. It's sexy looking, but if your game is PRS / precision shooting long range, carbon fiber only gets in your way. It is mirage creator. After 6-7 shots, mirage limits your ability to see. The only time I could see it being beneficial is with something you are carrying all day that you need to be light. I could even see it being useful in an AR platform.
Cost alone is prohibitive for those who shoot as much as some of us here. Not enough of a benefit
Yea all valid points. I have been seeing alot of reviews complaining about mirage. Think I have settled for a LRI SS Barrel. Now here is a whole different question. Barrel Length? Currently running a 24" but have been contemplating on going 20". Any thoughts?
yes sir - very solid choice. But you never answered what you plan to use it for?
My game is long range precision/ PRS. Weight and speed are beneficial in my world. I always say, go as long as comfortable. Having more speed will always help, and you can run a barrel softer thus it last you longer.
So looking to brush off the dust and get back to shooting some distance. Once I believe all the dust is gone I would like to shoot my first PRS match.
