Ive looked all around on here and everywhere I can think of forum wise. Has anyone used a Proof carbon barrel on the Ruger Precision Rimfire? If so what are your thoughts on it?

ruger was a good deal i couldnt pass up. I basically paid for the vortex on it and came with the gun lol yea I know its a rabbit hole with this gun its never going to be a vudoo or rimx (and i understand that). It really isnt a bad shooter for the money once you find the ammo it likes. The proof is $650 thats why I am trying to find anyone that has it. If they are making it someone has to have bought one.

Just a few thoughts.

I like the RPRR for what it is and understand it's limitations but if you want a new barrel there are a few to consider

Nakoa1 had a RPRR and dropped a CF barrel on it (forget the brand but it's not proof) and his shot extremely well
I have a WhistlePig barrel and it's pretty accurate but my boys gun still has extraction issues (not as bad)
As KoD stated IBI has barrels and so does Beyer, Green Mountain, and there might be a few others (Lilja etc..). If I was going for light weight I would lean toward Beyer right now after how well I have seen his AR22 barrels perform. I think IBI will shoot but it will be heavy.

I would test the gun out first and see what it needs.

My boys OEM barrel is actually quite accurate and will hang at 50 yards with my CZ 457 and Tikka T1x with the right ammo.

The proof is cool but I don't think it's worth it to drop that on a Ruger unless you got one at a screaming deal too on the barrel
