Gunsmithing Proof Sendero light in a Manners Bartlein 4 barrel channel?

Hi all,
Trying to pick up a stock for my next build, I got a Proof Sendero Light barrel and am looking at a Manners EH2 which can accept up to a Bartlein 4 contour. Will the Proof fit in that barrel channel or would I need to open it up?

The PR Sendero Light is a little bigger than the #4 at the muzzle so you're likely going to run into interference on the front half of the inlet. Should sand out pretty quickly, though. I have a Proof Sendero (not light) in an EH1 and it fits.

The 1.20" shank is also longer on the Proof, but that can be cut back by your smith to match the stock contour.

Yeah I figure I can have the shank down to 1” if I really wanted. Main thing is I don’t want to have to sand a bunch out of the barrel channel. Guess I could always send it back to Manners if needed.

Get a socket about the size of the barrel channel. Wrap sand paper around the socket. It make it very easy to open up and keep straight.
