I am shooting for the for the first time off a RRS setup. I had a Manfrotto with a pig saddle prior.

How are you guys adjusting your bullheads and shooting? Set the drag tight (how tight) and get on target and fire? Get on target, lock the BH and then fire? Etc.

Let me know what is working for you guys. What do I need to know?

Thanks

I have the lever version. I usually leave pan loose enough to turn with some minor pressure and will lock it only if I need it to be absolutely motionless. On the head itself, I loosen the lock out lever and tune the drag to a point where I'm comfortable with how steady it is without me applying any additional pressure to move the head. Once I have that dialed, I leave it alone and usually just use the lockout lever either to be completely loose or completely locked out. Does my description make sense? Probably easier to show it to you than to describe it.
