QL refers to the case capacity as "maximum case capacity, overflow".... But doesn't tell you where the overflow point is.

Of these cases, which is closest to the correct water level for QL???

Interesting.... that doesn't seem to meet the definition of "overflowing". But it makes intuitive sense because anything else is beyond the actual case capacity itself. I would have picked 2nd from left with just a bit of a bulge so there was no doubt the water was at the lip and not slightly concave.

Anyone else?

I just card off the bulge flush with the case mouth and weigh the damn case.

Close enough for all intents and purposes........

Concave or not, pickin' nits over what a speck of water adds or doesn't ain't my gig, I got better things to fret over than that.

QL is just a rough draft anyway........

Really? I guess I need to go back and read it. I missed it and I was looking. Thanks!

Just got QuickLOAD and fired it up. Here's my related question to you QL'ers ...

For "6.5 Creedmoor Hornady", the default for Max Case Capacity is "51.50gr". I just measured my case and the full case weighs out with "87.5gr" of water.
Should "actual" be so far from "default"? The difference ends up being huge in the "Charge Variation" tables.
The "Default" puts 44.53gr into the "Danger" zone.
The "Actual" doesn't ever hit that zone.
What am I doing wrong?

Zero your scale with an empty fired and primed case. Fill the case with water, dislodge any air bubbles, flat meniscus. Weigh the water.

MinnesotaMulisha, with great respect, what a c*nt answer. That's the most degrading, arrogant answer I've ever seen. He's new at QL. He's here to learn. That's the very foundation to a forum. And he's a seasoned marine, for God's sake. Respect for a warrior. And, it was a good question.
If you don't have time to post a helpful reply, please don't. How do you know this guy might not be the next match-winner that helps shape new guys in the future. And God knows our side needs numbers.
Sorry, I don't mean to hammer, but this upset me a little.
Rusty, I hope you're still getting notifications on this thread. If you still need QL help, holler.
