Always proud of him for numerous reasons but here is just another. They did the whole ceremony at the state convention last month. My son and I drove to it for the weekend as did my brother, his wife, and kids. My dad's brothers and sisters were there already as they are all either in the VFW or Women's Auxiliary as is my mother. It was a real nice ceremony and he gave a pretty good speech in my opinion. My pops has a lot of energy towards this cause and is pretty dedicated to it. Despite the fact my entire family lives within 10 minutes or so of each other, minus my brother and his family, it was cool that we all drove 5 hours to another town to hang out and BS in the bar, something we've never done. Just kinda cool to hang out with everyone without having to get a load of hay in, or get Xmas trees harvested, or work cattle, or for a funeral or something.
