As title says Razor gen 2 or AMG, don’t care about weight or other brands. Just like to see what people think between these two. Seems PRS shooters in general use the the Razor more than AMG, but what do you all say. Thanks in advance!

I like the AMG for rimfire and the RZR2 for centerfire. The 4-27x56 eyebox is very forgiving for follow through and positioning. With rimfire, that's less an issue. Plus, I worry less about banging my razor around than the AMG. Tough they are...

Have an AMG now, had a Razor gen2 4.5-27 before. Enjoyed both tremendously, but did not like how absurdly heavy the 4.5-27 was.

I tend to the lighter side of things, though. I do like the EBR7 reticle in the AMG (now I think you can get them in Razor gen2's, also) better than the EBR1c in my 4.5-27. Currently the AMG sits on a 300 PRC ELR rig, and I'm most likely going to move it to my PRS rig eventually, and put another Gen2 4.5-27 on the 300 PRC.

I prefer the AMG. I've never been a fan of super heavy rifles and the eyebox is negligible if the rifle is set up properly. I believe the AMG has better resolution, deals with CA better, and has better turrets. Low light performance is similar. If you can get the AMG for less than 2k, jump on it.

I have one in the Exchange for well under $2,000. Mounted it for the first time today and took it out. This was my first reticle with . 2mil subtensions. Not for me. Took the scope off, snapped some pics for the add and posted it up for sale.

I don’t shoot PRS @Stoweit but have used both the Razor and AMG. I couldn’t imagine one over the other making much difference in competition other than an extra pound maybe helping with recoil. The AMG glass is better but it’s not enough over the Razor to worry about. Splitting hairs.

Have owned both and compared them side by side on many days. I kept the RG2 and sold the AMG.

Eyebox in the Razor is really forgiving. I like the EBR2C reticle and the pricing is great right now.

PM me if you have specific ?s

The AMG is nice and its pretty great that it has practically the same amount of adjustment in a smaller tube and is over a pound lighter, but the HDG2 performs wonderfully and is hard as hell to beat at the price it's offered at now. If I were to set up another long range rifle that would be what I put on mine. I really like the new EBR-7C and glass is great.

Got my Genii 4.5-27 today, pretty impressed for the money. Nice clean glass, can’t wait to zero it. Quality level seems as good as any other high end scope I’ve owned, love the turrets.

I have not ever owned a Razor or an AMG. I am all Nightforce. I have absolutely nothing against them, the various NF offerings just suit me better.
I can only offer my opinion based on what I see at matches.
The tide is definitely shifting towards NF, and lately Kahles. A couple years ago, MOST guns you saw at a match were wearing Razors. It seemed like THE default scope. Again, that tide may be shifting, but it likely always will. Whatever the top shooters are running will likely top the rifles in matches.
I haven’t seen NEAR as many AMG’s. Not saying none, but nowhere near the same as the Razor.

I can agree with you there. But with the release of the EBR7C I bet we see it reverse once again.
