Just got my PRS medium tri-pod with wider rest in today and upon first inspection and a little playing with it looks like it is going to be a great piece of gear for when I am out hunting. I ordered it on Monday night and it showed up this afternoon. Nothing but first class service from Danel and Sharon over at Precision Rifle Solutions, Cant wait to take it out this weekend and try it out more on the range.

Also got my lil wedge rear bag in from Triad Tactical today and it is also first class, and as always great service from them as well. It looks like these two places are going to end up to cost me a lot more money.

wburke2010,

Thank you for the kind words and we look forward to your range report. With it in the cradle where you have it, that looks like it may be the sweet spot you will want to use with that rifle and tripod set up while shooting.

Jon,

As far as attaching a grip head to the tripod leg assembly you most certainly can. The ball head is screwed to a male 1/4"x20 coming out of the top of the center column. I have been using a SLIK AF 1000E on the large and medium tripod with great success. The grip head does add some height to the package which may make low prone more difficult. Besides being lighter than the Manfrotto grip heads it has a unique feature that I have found to be very handy, the top portion of the grip head that accepts the QD connector plate has a lever that is independent of the grip action. By releasing this lever it allows the top to swivel making it real nice for movers or covering a wide area of responsibility. Here are a couple pictures of the set up with the AF 1100E. The AF 1100E is not as expensive as the Manfrotto stuff and I believe has better features than the Manfrotto. This grip head has held up just as well if not better than my Manfrotto grip head. We are considering offering this head as an option item. It does add weight and size to the otherwise compact package of the medium and large tripods. Not so much that it is not still easily packed in a ruck or strapped to the outside, but in some places where ounces matter this may detract from its use. You can get an idea as to how the top plate rotates in relation to the grip head in the three pictures as the plate is orientated differently in each photo.
