anybody tried this ammo. its fairly cheap but dont want to get a bunch of it on a hunch. if anybody has tried it, how was the accuracy, consistency?

Running it through my savage, I've had 3 shot groups(so FWIW) that are .5moa, but most are probably 1.5MOA. Most the time its two shots that are actually touching with a third thats way off. So in other words, if you could pick the good 15 in the pack it would possible be more impressive than real match ammo, but since you can't its not good stuff!

I had similar results with the Prvi. It seemed like there was always a flier in every group. It was consistently inconsistent. I never had one that refused to go bang but for the price and accuracy id go surplus military, or save up for some FGMM.

Yup. It's not consistent at all. I only use it in my gasser. I have had the same issues. It will shoot good for 3-4 rounds, then I will have a string of fliers all over the place.
I won't buy it anymore.

PP sucks if you want some pretty good match ammo on the cheap try out some hsm 168gr match....It shoots consistently into half moa in my savage 10.It can be had at cabelas for 19$ a box or if you want to get it directly from hsm website for 13.99 a box..
Note,this ammo shoots very well in my rifle.......Your results may vary....

It's a mixed bag. I bought a case of the 308 168-gr match, a case of the 308 175-gr match, and a case of the 223 69-gr match.
In my Rem 5R, the 168-gr varies from sub-moa to 2-moa, in my TRG, its about 1-moa, in my friends Rem VS, I saw him shoot a 0.25" group at a 100 with it.
The 175-gr I feel is a little more consistant. It will shoot sub-moa, but if you're wanting to punch paper, and expect tight groups, you'll be disappointed with it. I shoot steel with it, and happy with it for that purpose. One day I even tried it at 1200-yards, and once I got my wind dialed in, the hits on a 19x22 steel plate were consistant.
The 69-gr 223 stuff is also a mixed bag. In my Rem 5R it's around 1 to 1.5-moa, but in my LMT carbine on steel out to 500-yards it's accurate and consistant. I used this stuff at the Wyoming Tactical Rifle Championship, and was very happy with how it performed.
If all your doing is shooting steel, for the price it's a good cost effective training ammo.

Prvi is NOT "match" ammo. I tried one box for the price. I'll never shoot it again. You get what you pay for.

I shot a fair bit of their 75 gr "match" out of my 16" WOA barrel and I would say that in general it's good for 1.5 MOA. Runout was 6-8 thousandths with the 168gr "match" that I got, shot about 1.5 MOA both a Trued Remmy and a stock Savage FP10 1/10" barrels, HSM better, Southwest best for larger quantities of cheaper "match" practice ammo

Where do you see the HSM 168gr for $14? The cheapest 308 I see on their site is $20.

Stay away from this ammo. I bought 140 rounds of the 168 to shoot in a match and it shot so so 1 moa at best(308win). I had 2 that the bolt stuck a little bit but nothing terrible. Well I reloaded it I came into trouble.

Now let me say this I was very very precise in these loads to the point where they were developed with powder trickling by hand to get them right on the money. You reloaders know how it is chasing the precision round smile. I have done this same load in my Federal brass and it has been just fine and runs well I was just looking to use some "Match Brass" vs basic Federal.
The first round blew the primer clean out of the brass. Bit shocked I thought maybe is was something rare but the next one did the same thing. Now these were not issue that caused me to have a stiff/stuck bolt handle or anything so I was perplex. This would be the second firing of this brass as it was bought new through Cabela's about a year ago.
I have come to find that the primer hole are to large. When you primed the brass it felt right and seemed like it was in there very tight. Now it seems this has been a issue all over the internet with these rounds. The kicker is that is bent the ejector a little bit so now I have to replace that and the carbon froze up the extractor and when I bumped the extractor with a small screw driver to get it back in place (I should have known better then to do this in the field)the extractor came out and the 1/8" detent ball went flying. So being in the desert I was lucky (those of you who have shoot in the AZ desert would know) in that I found the extractor but lost the detent ball.
So better to be safe then sorry and now I am going to have to scrap them out and need to find another set of brass to use.
This is ammo I would never dream of buying again.IMO there are better options out there like SW Ammo etc...

Had the same thing happen up here with an Anschutz Woodchucker(youth model .22).
The trigger adjustment gear, spring, detent ball, etc all fell out. I didn't notice it as the trigger pull was the same either way.
I was lucky and found it all on the deck behind the tailgate of the truck.

I've tried the 223 Match 75 gr. It was more accurate than PMC Bronze and Federal M193 but less accurate than match ammo like Fiocchi 77 gr SMK. I think it shoots fine for the price (~$9) but I haven't tried the Hornady Training or Steel Match 75 gr.

I've actually purchased the 75gr .224 Prvi bullets for reloading from Grafs. What I find is I have to weight sort them because the weight variation can go +- 1 grain (which may partially explain people's experienced inconsistency). American made match bullets usually have a weight variance of +- .2 grain. Even the Barnes TSX have only a variance of +- .6 grain.
After weight sorting them, they seem to shoot well out of my bolt action.

I made the mistake of buying a couple cases at a gunshow and I couldn't get it to shoot any better than 1.25-1.5MOA in any rifle. I'd stick to M80 ball if you want something cheap to blast. It gives about the same accuracy at 100 yards (sometimes a little better) and is actually consistent. Going out to 500-800 yards with the PRVI the vertical stringing was horrible. Vertical and horizontal has always been consistent for me with the M80. I'd run M80 or spend the extra cash for FGMM, TAP, BH, ect.

Unfortunately...hasn't performed that well for me. I use the heavy .223 ammo now in my SBR for HD (if needed). I just couldn't get it to dial in. Looks like the .308 fodder is in the same lane.

I really have had much success with this stuff at all. I was going to turn it into plinking ammo but to be honest the American Eagle 155's are much more consistant that this stuff. Jsut my two cents!
