Hi guys,

Has anyone bought Winchester "Widemouth" Model 70 FN SPR A5 Military BDL from PTG. I am a bit confused about which magazines it uses. I was told that it uses AICS mags, but as far as I know when using these mags in SPR with other bottom metals or chassis the action needs to be slightly modified. So is this the case for this as well?

Thanks,
Alex.

Ptg had a couple DBMS for the Spr. One is the wide-mouth which utilizes aics mags and will require a slight modification to the action. The other dbm uses AI AE MkI single-stack mags which ptg sells too. This dbm requires no modification to the action.

Any update on which one you went with? I'm in the same boat and have been wanting to get the CDI DBM but they have been out of stock for weeks now. I like the flush bottom metal look though so that's what's keeping me wanting the CDI, however I'm tired of waiting. Is the wide mouth PTG a good one to go with?

I didn't buy either one. For both the action needs to be modified slightly. CDI does this for free if you send in your rifle, so that's a benefit. Some people do it themselves and say it is not that difficult, not sure I would be comfortable messing with it. I have PTG bottom metal that is used for a regular floor plate and uses AE mag, this works well and is well made, but since then I bought manners stock that needs wide mouth version. So for now i am using regular 4rd factory setup with manners stock.
