Was thinking about getting one of these for a rifle project and wondered how much fitting does it takes to get one fitted to the action? Timing, head-space, extraction cam...is it worth it or better to just put a new handle on the one I have?

Can't go wrong with a PTG one piece bolt. Dave and the crew at PTG have done a great job of setting everything up so that there will be minimal fitting. It will most likely not drop into a gun that is been chambered for a different bolt though. They are a great product though can't go wrong, I use them on lots of builds .

^^^^^^They are a great alternative. It does require a little fitting. The amount you remove from the rear of the lugs will determine how much primary extraction you can get.

You'll have to determine if it's better than a new handle on your existing bolt. With the PT&G, you'll get a 1-piece bolt, no welded or soldered handle. You can get a different extractor, if that suits you, you'll have a choice of an .062 firing pin, and bolt knob. Truing and all of the other options are all added costs to your existing bolt, if you choose to do them, or have them done.
