Gunsmithing Putting scope base on aluminum 10/22 barrel?

Interesting question as setting aside the "barrel harmonics and what not" it very well might work with a .22 cal. providing the tap depth and barrel thickness on your Ruger........................never heard of it being done though. Have you looked at the Aim Sports Tactical Quad Rail for the 10/22? Of course there's always the more expensive Badger EFR or if it won't work with your stock the LR-EFR. If you decide to attach the rail to your barrel it would be great if you would share your results.

Dont know about aluminum but I can say that all the old 40x and win 52s etc had barrel mounted scopes. Most chassis are aluminum and they all have plenty of tapped holes on them. I say if its thick enough to get enough of a good clean thread to try it. According to the manufactures website the barrel is .92"
