Hi,

Wanted to know the best way to clean PWS Barrel. I have a Bore Brush and a Hoppes Viper Bore Snake I was planning to use, with cleaner, for the bore & barrel. Wanted to know if the brass brush in the Viper is good to use and won't scratch the PWS Barrel's.....or is their a better way. Want to get the most durability and longevity out of the barrel without hurting barrel's performance.

Planning to wet barrel down with cleaner before using Bore Brush and pulling Bore Snake through, using cleaner wetted patch...then dry patch with jag to finish...till patch comes out white. Then some Sig Sauer Spec1 oil on patch...and finish again with dry patch and Jag to leave light oil film in barrel.

Thanks for any advice!!!

Hmmmm....anyone???

Don't over think it.. Unless you see a noticeable decrease in accuracy.
A few wet patches, brush a few times, then dry patches/ snake... or just run the snake a few times. Doesn't have to be spotless.

Sounds good. Do you use the snake with the brass brush imbedded in it....or without.

Standard boresnake is what I use, yes the one with the brass bristles. Every 100 rounds or so I put some Hoppes #9 in front of where the bristles are, pull it through 2-3 times, then run a couple dry patches. The End. I never fully clean my bore. You get 200 opinions from 100 guys.

I have gotten away from the traditional boresnakes that are woven nylon. I have seen several of them break off and get stuck in the barrel. I been liking the newer metal braided cords for my range bag for range cleaning. If i am at home, Ill just use a rod.
