I was wondering if anyone has noticed a difference in quality between the older and newer nightforce scopes. I have 2-nightforce 5.5-22x50 NP-r1 scopes. One was manufactured on 2007 and the other in 2010. All of the markings on the older one are deeply etched resulting in a crisp shine on the markings. The newer scope has flat markings that look more laser etched.

My favorite Nightforces are the ones with zero stop, and no high speed turrets. The older turrets seemed to feel better in my opinion, but as far as quality, I haven't seen any loss or gain in quality. They have always been built like tanks.

Nightforce did change their some of the engraving. If you have the older Nightforce rings, for instance, you will have their NF logo on the top of the ring in bright white lettering, but they went away from that now and you do not have that white NF logo anymore. My bet is they wanted to keep that flat black look across. Just one thing I've noticed from the estetic changes from Nightforce.

I've had 3 NO HS, no ZS , NO HS w/ ZS and HS/ZS

All of them felt great. The HS/ZS F1 feeling the best.

IMO my old one was made just has tough as my new one. Spend more time shooting, and not feeling the engraving of your makers. sheesh.
