    Ok,

    I've got two belted magnums: a 300WM and 375 H&H.

With the 300WM I've always full length resized.

With the 375 H&H I've always just checked length and reloaded. Trimmed when required...

    So, on to the question:

I've got the Larry Willis Collet die, and it's dawned on me that the proper use is probably to:

    1) Use the collet on the area above the belt.
    2) Trim the brass
    3) Clean the inner / outer edges
    4) Resize the neck
    5) Prime and reload

    Does this make any sense?

The reason I ask is that, as many of you pointed, the 375 suffers from serious brass flow. Whereas my 300WM doesn't due to the pronounced shoulder angles...

I tend to think that the above is probably a better way of doing it with my 375...

    Opinions?

    Thanks all...

I have one also for my 300 win mag. According to Larry, you must resize your brass first, be it FL, or neck size. Then you can run the brass through the collet die, keeping the collet just above the rim. So far it works well. However, I still have some problem with chambering the 300 win mag. I think I need to set the neck back a bit.

Re: Question 2: Collet vs FL Sizing

That's basically why I always FL resize with the Redding ST die and then neck size with the match neck sizer on m 300WM.

The 375 seems to have limited options for that... So that's why I was wondering if I could get away with the collet, and then neck sizing.

This would basically give my cambering a nice smooth feel, while leaving the brass perfectly centered and 375's very narrow sholder a perfect fit [for my rifle].

I assume that this would probably give me decent overall accuracy...

Am I just full of shit?

GB. I suppose the issue of accuracy is there with the neck size. The more important question is the easy and reliable feeding when you try to chamber. I am willing to sacrifice a "little" of the accuracy department to have reliable feeding. When it comes down to the moment of truth, nothing is more frustrating when the round doesn't chamber. In answering for the 375, I would do the neck size first before the collet sizing. Remember that the collet die only works on the body of the case.
