Question about 375 GT

Wouldn’t leave a lot of shoulder left, .375 is the datum for a 6gt as shown here, but I suppose neither does a 300bo. Slow thumper.

.375+(.012*2)=0.399 of a reasonable outside neck diameter.
That leaves (.459-.399)/2=.030 of shoulder on each side, which is about twice as much as a black out.

Interesting. Would look like a slightly scaled up 338 arc I guess. Prob ideal capacity for moving 375 bullets at sub speeds without a bunch of un-used case capacity.

I'm surprised nobody is necking up the 8.6 Blackout. Seems like the perfect sized case. I've made the argument before that it's pretty similar to the 7BR JDJ ended with when he did the bigger whispers. Brass seems to be available and Starline even lists it as in stock. I don't know what happened with Hornady and Q but I am still hoping we see the Blackout lineup get bigger. 357 375 40 458 50.

Well, It is still in development, but this is what I like about it- standard bolt face, standard mags. I'm not entirely sure if I "need" a sub cartridge, but I already have a big bore can on order
In development by whom? Hoping this will be standardized as it will be nice sub cartridge for the reason you mentioned.

My guess would be super efficient subs for smacking animals with authority. The high BC should cut the wing better than the 338 and 8.6.
I don't know if hornaday would jump on board for saami because it competes with the 338 Arc.

It's case capacity is very similar to the 375 Raptor...already available. With dies and everything.
No need to reinvent the wheel.

Unless ya want to...but we already have it in the 375 Raptor.
So here they are L to R 300 Blkout, 338 Spectre, 338 ARC, 8.6 Blackout, 375 Raptor, and 510 Whisper.

I shoot all of these...the tiny cases are the best for accuracy and consistency in velocity.
The 338 Spectre is the best for subs, high case fill, super low S/Ds, super easy to tune...one powder for all bullets 160 gr to 300 gr. Subs or supers same powder. Next is 338 ARC.

The 375 raptor is a pretty good super round and does okay with the 350 gr SMK in subs. Running hybrid cases..

The 8.6 blkout is similar with a 6.5 twist, but the 3 twist is garbage as a dual purpose cartridge and very limited use, with too much case capacity and very limiting with respect to bullet selection. ..not even worth considering in a 3 twist..the worst concept ever...but I had to try it...and have discarded the 3 twist barrel for a 375 Raptor barrel much better than the 3 twist 8.6 blk.

Looks like Hornady's answer to the 8.6blk. 338 arc for small frames and 375 gt for large frames. I wonder if there will be any supersonic usage out of this or if it's strictly a sub sonic thumper?

This is the 375 Raptor shooting a 235 gr Speer at 2500 fps...a fair amount of power out of an AR 10, not exactly slow.
The similar 375 GT should be within 100 fps with same barrel length...
