Re: Question about a short range weapon.
From what I have read, you can add the pistol grip. The only thing is since the Yugo did not have a pistol grip in the first place, adding an American pistol grip will not count towards your part count. You will have to add the additional parts to keep it 922.
The original Yugo's (not Cali compliant) had some features that were not considered sporting. Night sights, grenade launcher, bayonet. Back in the day, the only way to keep it legit was to keep it in it's original Curio and Relics form.
Well rules change and laws change, your Yugo more than likely has holes drilled in the end of the grenade launcher, or it has an aftermarket "muzzle guard".
Also back in the day, if you removed the bayo, you would have to remove the grenade launcher, and night sites to convert it to a Sporting rifle.
Yeah, frickin confusing.
This is one reason I suggest getting a Chinese, you can even look for one that takes AK mags (SKS-M) Also the Chinese have chrome lined barrels, a little insurance when shooting corrosive milsurp or eastern block ammo.
The Yugo in itself is a nice rifle. Just best to leave them original.
