Hey all,
I have a newly rebarreled rifle that I am about to start reloading for.
Rifle is pre-64 model 70 with benchmark 24" barrel 1 in 10.
Starting supplies are Reloader 22, CCI BR2 primers, Nosler custom brass and the Berger VLD 115 grain hunting bullet.
My Speer manual says bullets 110 grains to 120 grains should get a max of 58 and 59 grains reloader 22, respectively. Based on some pet loads I have seen on various sites this seems like alot. Do the Bergers require less powder because of their length? I have never loaded VLD's before so I am somewhat confused by the discrepancy. Most pet loads seem to be somewhere close to 50 grains.
Thanks for any help.
