Kicking Ass Somewhere
I have loaded 1k+ rounds of LC brass with 175 smk and 41.8 grn 4064, my M1A loves this stuff, also loaded up some 168 SMK's last week, LC Brass, 42gr IMR 4895. Last week I took my M1A NM and my SASS to the range, bought my normal load of 43 Varget with Winbrass for the SASS but also tried shooting the 168 MK load through the SASS, I would not cycle fully with the 168 load but ate up the normal Varget/175 SMK/Winbrass load. Today I tried the 175 SMK LC and 41.8/4064 load in the SASS, it would not cycle but cycled fine with the 175/43 grVarget/LC loads. Do I have to up the powder charge for the SASS with the LC brass/4064 for it to cycle or is there something else going on?

I shoot 38 grains of IMR 4895 behind 168 SMK's (same load I use in my 308 TRG 22 and AIAW) and have no problems at all with MY DPMS SASS. When I was developing my loads for the TRG 22 the 38 grains of IMR gave me the best accuracy in both the TRG & AIAW. So that's what i shoot in all my gassers. By the way that was also the same load I shot in my M1A NM for many years. I use Lapua brass in my bolt actions and mixed brass in my semi's.
