I am looking into scopes for my next rifle. It'll be going on a .338LM and I would like to shoot past 1000yds. What is the best magnification power for 1k yds? I have a 3.5-10x on my .308 now and I just don't think it will cut it, I just don't know how much more I will need.

Should at least be 24X on 30-40 MOA canted mount, depending on the amount of mil or MOA adjustment. Above 24X mirage becomes a big factor.

With 125moa in the new Nightforce ATACR that might be a good solution.
25x would be where I would top out as well. <span style="font-style: italic">Usually</span> more mag = less internal adjustment.

For $2300, it had better be good glass! Lol. Those NF look good but I'm trying to stay under $1500

Take a look at the 3.5-15x56. They are being discontinued and can be had for that price range. 110moa worth of elevation in those models.
