Rifle Scopes Question about magnification...

Just to ensure similar levels of quality in glass and construction, I'll be referring to the S&B PMII 4-16 and the 5-25. From what I understand, there's such a thing as too much magnification due to mirage. If both scopes were at 16x, they'd have the same mirage distortion, right? Would they also have the same field of view? So far, the only benefit I can ascertain is that lower magnification ranges on FFP scopes make it easier to use the reticle at low magnification.

Mirage like your tremors from muscle tension and reticle bounce from your heartbeat is always present.
Higher magnification only make it more apparent.

These are a function of conditions, not the optics.

Check individualk scope's spec for FOV information, as there isn't a blanket statement that works there either....
