Is the bottom metal and trigger guard a different material on the Remington Bdl vs the Sps? I am wondering because I am in the process of buying a gun to start a custom build and want the better bottom metal and trigger guard. I thought maybe the Bdl was actual steel and the sps was more like an aluminum. Any help would be appreciated. Also, what are the thoughs on a blind magizine (top load) vs a hinge plate for a 300 win mag custom build?

They are both aluminum cast pot metal type stuff.
If going full custom spring for the extra $150 or so and get the Pacific Tool and Gauge BDL.
As for ADL vs BDL, that depends a lot on what this 300 will be used for.

Just my .02 cents, but you're always better off with a BDL.
I agree with jasonk on the bottom metal. If you don't want a DBM then go with the PTG BDL floor plate option.
