Why do people blurr out the srial # in the pics? I for some reason just don"t understand, please enlighten me.

security, mostly. Same reason almost everyone blur's out their license plate when photographed.
There actually ARE some dishonest folk, who'd create problems for the actual owners by "misreporting" the numbers.
And such.
I'm sure others will chime in more.
