Rifle Scopes Question about thermal imaging/scopes

Re: Question about thermal imaging/scopes

If they are alive and the background is not exactly the same temperature and emmisivity. The colder the night, the easier it is to hunt with thermal imaging gear.

If they are cast's, then it would be harder, but possible if you have enough resolution

^^^This.

Yep, totally dependent on temperature contrast and resolution. The tips for point counting will be next to impossible to resolve once they shed the velvet later in the season, but you should still be able to easily discern bulls from cows.

I would take a good Gen III over thermal for ID purposes.

Re: Question about thermal imaging/scopes

In other words I'd be better off saving the money and getting a Gen 3 night vision scope?Don't you have to have alittle bit of moon to see stuff at night with night vision or not?
