I don't have the problem. I periodically make excessive/dumb choices. My Wife lets me know she's in the loop. When she grumbles, she's almost always always right on target. She's valuable participant in the process; and I can use the second set of eyes and opinions.

My wife won't let me so I don't fucking tell her, I just do it my $$$ my house my farm my bank account..... In 2 days the bitching is over. This all started with my 383 stroked m-21 1970 Chevy Nova when I wanted one way back in 2005. She butches we need thing for the house tile the kitchen remodel the bathroom...... Built a new pole barn 1 year earlier that's where my hotrod lived. The house got done also...
Me and my buddy used to play the "I'll get one if you get one" game. He had to stop after the last go 'round (turbocharged compact hatchbacks). That was three years ago and his wife still hasn't shut up about it.
He still buys stuff, just has to use his "secret" fund and hope she doesn't find out.

I gotta say, there are a heck of a lot of 'different' ways to be married, it seems. To each their own, I guess.
The way our system works here, is that My Lady and I work together as a team. She's my best friend, and that's how it all started out. At the range, going to the club, rides, and rally's. The fact that we met in the same classes at university was a great start to begin with.
Then I was in the accident, and she didn't leave my side/room at the hospital for my whole stay (some weeks) whilst I was in there. She left the hospital late at night, and came back in the morning. Upon release, she was at my house (renting) each day taking care of my needs. [realize that this is all what I've been told, salted in there with a few 'flashbulb memories' because of my MTBI. I have practically NO knowlege/memory of this time, for months] I had an income coming in, she took over and paid all the bills, and did everything that needed to be done. A month before the accident, my dog had puppies, and she took care of them too.
And then, later that year my income stopped. (wrongfully) and we went for over a year without ANY income. That was rough, believe me. She did everything she could to help out, and get me/us through this. Realize that she was still living at home with her parents, and drove back and forth each day. Or got dropped off/picked up, depending on circumstances.
As stated, it was over a year before things finally got straightened out, and my income continued. It was with that back-pay that she pushed me to buy the house after paying back all the previous debt incurred. Then, like Veer was mentioning, there was "4 figures" left over and she made me call GA Precision. There was enough for glass and a Dillon XL 650 too, originally.
Then, a few weeks later we got hit again, and I (RESPONSIBLY) cancelled the glass and Dillon order. The GAP deal was already paid for, and importing procedures had already begun with the State Department.
So yeah, this is almost a decade and a half ago, and we're still going strong. There's been ALL KINDS of drama, chaos, and mayhem involved. Some of you will remember the "I'm Smarter Now" thread that is still going on daily here. But yeah, we work as a team to do what is needed, and the funds go to where they're needed most, first. Each day we need a roof over our heads, light/water/heat as well as a vehicle and fuel for such. If there's anything left over, then some gets put aside, and we may order a pizza once in a while.
But daily life is DEFINITELY worth living, here. How about at your house?

I can honestly say that I have never experienced this. I doubt that I would have the balls to admit it if I had! My Wife has always been supportive. Of my hobbies, my job, everything. It helps that I have always been the main bread winner. It also helps that I have always been responsible. If I couldn't afford it I didn't have to have someone else tell me. We discuss major purchases. Things like cars, trucks, tractors. Lesser stuff we just buy, if we want it and can afford it.
Wife and I own a piece of land, and a CUT would be really helpful for what we do and want to do there.

I married my best friend , on big purchases like a new precision rifle I will save my money. The priority on every check money into savings, pay bills and left over is play money. I have been married 23 years and when I ask her to pick up powder or primers I have ordered she says no problem. She has never told me I can’t go shoot or buy a gun.

Further, we don't just learn of God by studying His word (scripture), we also learn by studying His works (the universe and everything in it). The fundamental truth that male and female are different is readily apparent to anyone with the eyes to see it.
