Looking at one of these for a Badger action. KRG says they are coming out soon and they will only be folder options.

For those that have a folder version, when extended does the stock have any wiggle at all? I saw a video review of the folder update installed on a prior fixed version and the reviewer mentions there is some slop.

My AICS has absolutely no play at all and thats the only way I can handle a folder. If there is any wiggle at all it distracts me and I hate that.

Anyone have any experience with that?

Re: Question for KRG Whiskey 3 owners.

I was wondering about the same, because I had an XLR Industries folding stock, and man that was moving. I am planing to buy a REMINGTON 700 STAINLESS SPECIAL 5-R MILSPEC BARREL .300 WIN. MAG, or a Remington 700 Sendero SF II. Didn't decide it yet, and I am looking for a folding stocking option.

Well the last one not really folding stock, it is an easy removable option, what I like it most. So anyone have an experience with this and can compare them?

Re: Question for KRG Whiskey 3 owners.

Hello,
The reason that there was a little wiggle in that video is because it was a folding retro-fit kit that was not installed 100% correctly. This is not John's fault. We sent him the parts before we even had the instructions written up, and he had already got it installed and done the video before we told him what exactly needed to be done. He's fast! Anyhow we're going to either send him out a "factory built" folder or ask him to just disassemble it and redo the one he has.

The bottom line is that there is no slop in the folding stocks we send out. The latch mechanism we use is the same principle as the AICS/AXCS folder (and some others like the RACS) so it is a proven system.

If you like take down stocks better, our fixed Whiskey-3 can be taken down with three screws. Granted it's not QD but it is possible.
Thanks,
Justin

I believe it was probably my video you are referring to.

As Justin mentioned we did not use any epoxy when we first installed the folding mech. There was a TINY (and I mean barely perceptible) wiggle with the stock locked out. After talking to Justin at SHOT, I came home and looked at the setup again. The movement is almost completely from the point of the tube and the folding mechanism. It is not from the lock at all. I handled the version Justin had on display at SHOT and there is no play in the mechanism with the folder extended and locked.

Let me reiterate, the SLIGHT play that I felt after installing the hinge without epoxy is nothing that would impact the shooter in any way.

I am just trying to schedule some time to shoot a new video to update the folder install with the epoxy tip and evaluation after. It should be coming soon.

Again, the Whiskey-3 at SHOT had no play in it.

Lofty, if you get up to Southern Indiana let me know and I will be happy to let you handle/shoot the Whiskey-3 folder we have.

Re: Question for KRG Whiskey 3 owners.

I can only talk about the folding stock portion of the offering, not the entire chassis, as I have a KRG folding stock on my otherwise factory Sako TRG 42.

There is no discernible play at all.

And, once I changed from the factory fixed stock to the KRG folder, at the very first range session I used the folder at, I noticed my groups improving as I got used to, and adjusted, the KRG stock to my needs. My sixth group was very notably better than any group I had ever fired yet from that rifle. That KRG folder is a great stock.
