I just picked up a MPA chassis for my match rifle. I have some questions about the built in rail system. I have noticed several of the guys at matches have an Area 419 ARCA rail on their chassis. Does the rail that is on the chassis work with standard arca accessories or only the RAT accessories. I haven’t picked up any of the ARCA accessories yet but want to try to grab some Black Friday deals. If there is a good reason for running a different Arca Rail I will try to pick one up on sale as well.

I run both...Area419 universal and then the built in rail. I like the 419 because of the locking capability vs the built in rail. Only issue, is that you have to use the 419 arca clamps for their rails to take advantage of the sawtooth locking lugs. 419 stuff is top end gear and you can't go wrong. I also like having the 419 rail to protect the chassis...140$ is a hell of a lot cheaper than 850$ then resting on rocks and all the other crap you have to put your gun on...

I run the Area 419 MPA ARCAlock rail on both of my comp chassis's. The standard ARCA cut on the chassis will work with any ARCA compatable accessories, not just the MPA RAT system. A lot of guys like the locking ability of the 419 rail and run it for that, myself included. The teeth are nice to prevent sliding on a bipod or other accessories that might get loaded into. If your interested in picking one up, keep an eye out for the Cyber Monday deals going out today...

There is a consideration though on some obstacles. When putting the rifle through a short port or window there are times where any added height limits your ability to fit into it.

Thanks guys, that’s what I wanted to know. It looks like I should be able to pick up a rail today with a good discount. I think I want it for the locking ability if nothing else.
