Question for those with AIAX Chassis

I have one on order for my next build. I am wondering if anyone has had to shorten the scope base to miss the hand guard tube? I will be using a Stiller Tac30 AW with Stillers 20MOA rail. If anyone has one, what is the measurement from the rear of the recoil lug to the start of the handguard tube?

I owned a few, but don't remember shortening any scope bases....but might have. I do think they changed the design ever so slightly to make sure that you don't have to do that now; I think there's a notch in the hand guard.

Thanks Jasonk. Just by looking at the pic I'd say that the new hand guard is relieved around .75"? Would you say that's about right? Of course that new style with the flush scope base doesn't look bad at all. I may just have my smith chop my base at the end of the action.

What size obj. Is that 50 or 56? What hight rings are you running? I've got a 50mm obj NXS for mine and I have a set of 1.265" Nightforce ring that I hope to put to use.

56mm objective, extra high NF rings.

Awesome. Should have about the same bell/handguard clearance then with a .11 shorter ring and smaller bell.

I had to cut the Weaver base that was on my rifle to clear the handguard. Then when AI came out with their base and handguard rail I bought that. Then I sild the 700 and had the AX inletted for the Badger. And now I patiently wait.

My Seekins base clears without issue.
