Question, when you place the flash suppressor on the rifle, then place the "silencer" over it, how far back on the barrel does the "silencer" come toward the shooter? Or does it not go past the end of the flash suppressor.

This is the model I am referring to:
Surefire Comp/Suppressor Adapter model MB762SSAL/RE

Re: Question for those with the surefire supressors

The suppressor sits almost flush with the back of the flash hider that you install from SF. It might hang over 1/4 of an inch or less.

Do you have the break yet? I can measure for you.... You will probably have to have the barrel turned down to install the brake. What platform is this going on?

Re: Question for those with the surefire supressors

M40 Build, yes I have the break en route tot he smith as we speak. I am planning on having the barrel turned down from a Straight taper to .920. That should work right?

Re: Question for those with the surefire supressors

If you are running a MB762-211C you will have to turn it down to 5/8X24. If you are going to use the MB762SSAL/RE you will have to turn the barrel down to .775 for 2 3/4 inches so the adaptor can go on the barrel past the threads.

Re: Question for those with the surefire supressors

Several critical dimensions were left out of the 5/8x24 info above. Here is a standard 5/8x24 blueprint, however without seeing what blueprint SF ships with their brake I do not know if theirs is the same or not.

Best to have your smith work from the blueprint provided by the mfr for the specific part you plan to use.

Re: Question for those with the surefire supressors

If you buy one of our adaptors at the back of the installation manual there is a blueprint of how the barrel has to be machined for the different adaptors and it goes into complete detail for your gunsmith. I am sorry I was so vague.

Ya its shipping directly to the smith so he should get all the paperwork with it.
