When did Winchester stop making the 9422 Magnum?

Were there any years that they produced the 9422M that are more desirable (Better Quality)?

I bought a new one in the late 90s or so; it was a year or two later they stopped making them.

I think the 9422M was made right up to the end of New Haven production. The 9417 was added in 2003.

The early examples with straight stock and no checkering are considered the most desirable. My 9422M is one of these and shows a much higher degree of metal polishing than my later 9422.
