Sk i am thinking about getting a supressor for a build i want to do.
If i go the form1 route, do i personally have to build it? ( i have a buddy that has a machine shop at his house. Could i have him build it after the approval of course??
Where would ine find plans that arent junk
Or should i say plans for a proven design
Would it be better and easier to do a form 4 or a trust and buy one outright?
I have never had one but have been wanting one or two for some time now just. Ant stand the idea of it being in jail for a year or however long its taking now

Thanks for any input

Can’t speak to building your own can but individual form 4s have been coming back approved with stamps within 90 days as of late.

Is this can going on a bolt gun or gas gun? What caliber and chambering?

"You" have to make it. If your buddy makes it he better have his SOT and FFLs in order first. However, you can use his machines, with his help, to make one yourself.

I've been down that rabbit hole and my recommendation is to buy a form 4 suppressor either personal or trust, whichever floats your boat.

Would be going on a bolt gun. Planning in a 6.5 variant not decided exactly just yet
So i am assuming it would be just as easy or easier to buy one outright and do the form 4 individual rather than the form one and buiding.

Gottya. I just wasnt sure exactly how tje whole form 1 thing worked. As i am just starting down the rabbit hole of suppressors and all. Just want to make sure all is legal beagle prior to getting it going.
Thanks a bunch for the reply

Yes, I’d recommend purchasing one outright. Since it’s for a bolt gun in a non-magnum chamber you have a near limitless selection available at all price points. Everything from Surefire, KAC, TBAC, AAC and so forth.

As long as you are present, your friend can make it with your supervision. If you want it quicker, a form1 is the way to go. They can be made pretty good from parts that you can find online.

If you want the best, then form 4 for a Tbac can that suits your needs
