Questions Savage FCP LE with HS Precision

I just purchased the Rifle and was goofing off on E-bay and won a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x44PA. I am looking for knowledge and advice to which rings and mount to get. I have a budget of about $200- $250. I have read on other forums stating that unless I site in at 500yds I wont need the 20MOA mount. I want to site it in at about 200yds and be able to reach out to 600 or 700yrds.

No reason NOT to get a 20 moa base, as you'll still be ableto get a 100 yard zero, plus add additional range should you want/need in the future. 0 moa bases aren't cheaper.

Farrell makes nice stuff for Savage. You'd be maxxing out your budget if you got his rings and base.

A solid budget setup would be EGW base and TPS rings. That'll set you back ~$150
