Quick Newb Question on 300 NM neck size bushings

Never have reloaded the 300 NM but that I'm soon getting that Cal. rifle...

Along with rcbs match FL die I bought 34, 35 and 36 neck bushings. Would there be any reason I'd need others +/- ?

If those are the commonly listed ones are probably in a good spot. A different specific diameter would be determined by your actual brass thickness (maybe altered by turning), chamber neck diameter and desired tension. So likely won't know that till you have the barrel and brass in hand.

Thanks.. and one other thing. The guy that initially taught me how to reload never annealed his brass stating that the explosion itself auto annealed it. He'd been an avid reloader 30 years... never seemed to have short life cases. Nor have I ...thus far. But lately I've been wondering would it actually give another 2 or 3 fires?

So much controversy in that LoL.

I don't think firing anneals brass. However older methods of reloading that minimally altered the brass that was used in the same chamber over and over would likely have a long life (Think the original Lee loader tools...). Things have changed in the last 30 years, many are getting better repeatable accuracy (and reliable function) at greater distances than in the past.

Case life will depend on how hot of load you use and how much you work the brass when sizing.

Test it. I have, over many calibers and brands of brass.

I don’t have to test it as I measure my brass and they size within a thou of one another no matter if annealed or 5x fired.
