Pick it up and try it on for size. If you're going to shoot prone, get down prone with it. If you want to shoot positions, try all positions with it. Bring it into your shoulder with your eyes closed. Does the scope/sights line up with your eye?
They say for length of pull, put the buttstock into the crook of your elbow. Your trigger finger should reach the trigger. I don't understand this since I don't shoot with the rifle tucked into my elbow. I tuck it into my shoulder.
Put the rifle into your shoulder; your trigger finger should comfortably reach the trigger around the first finger joint or middle of your finger. Things like drop at comb come down to personal preference, to some extent. Although comb height may influence how high you can mount a scope and still get a good cheek weld.
