Gunsmithing Quick question on SAS flash hider

Perhaps a stupid question guys.
To install the SAS flash hider suppressor adapter I should be able to just screw it on a barrel with the proper threads. It shouldn't have to be timed like the brake would have to be, right?
Or am I an idiot.

The Vortex style FS mount that I have just screws on. Tighten it with a screwdriver across the tines.
