Range Report QuickLoad

Re: QuickLoad

I don't think so as it seems to have been coded using the Win32 API. There was a recent update that brought it out of the Win 2000/XP framework and into the Vista/Win7 framework, but I doubt the code is portable enough for other OSs.

Re: QuickLoad

Some people run their Macs in a dual-boot config so they can run the few legacy PC apps that are either not ported to the Mac platform or that don't have suitable equivalents (like QuickLoad).

Option B would be to run VirtualBox, which allows you to run a Windows operating system within a virtual sandbox on your Mac -or other *nix based OSes or even within a different version of Windows if you have something that is really tied to an older version. For personal/educational use it is free to download and use. I use it to run certain things on my Macbook. Win XP Home edition runs full screen flawlessly. My laptop is several years old, so it chugs a little running a full GUI operating system like XP inside a virtual machine, but it works for things like running the occasional Quickload simulation. If you wanted any kind of performance for regular use, I'd say better hardware or true dual boot would be better options.

Like memilanuk above, I run Windows XP under Parallels Desktop and also Boot Camp on my Macs. No problem running QuickLoad and OnTarget, and given the way that both of the apps are written I would highly doubt that we would see them running native on Mac OS X anytime soon.

I only run it on XP, but according to the distributor (developer?) site 3.6 does work on Vista and Win 7
