did a search. the site went into system overload with too many results. cannot figure out how to word it. so i am just going to ask.

Same old story I am sure. I have a hunting rifle, sportster barrel, ADL, chambered in .270 win. I do not have the means to purchase a new rig right now, so I have to work with what I got. I know there is a lack of high BC ammo, and its not optimal. But its what I got.

So please help me figure out how to get some longer range shots out of this thing. What can I do. Would like to be 600-1k range with it if possible. Assuming anything past 800 is going to start to be a stretch for accuracy. Advice?

You don't need to start with a full-on tactical rig to get quality time under your belt. If you don't reload, there are a few places making Long range rounds with the excellent Berger VLD 150gr with BC Of .531. Ammo .270 Winchester HSM Trophy Gold 150 Grain Berger Hunting VLD 3048 fps 20 Round Box
Hornady Superperfomance SSTs are great too. Maybe throw on a Harris bipod and make sure your scope is up to it, and you can reach out there a long long ways with 'ole reliable.
