I've got a 700 long action and recently put in a pst-026 stock. When closing the bolt the handle hits the stock at the lower rear of the cutout on the stock and prevents the bolt from closing all the way. I shaved perhaps 1mm of material from the stock and shimmed the recoil lug forward with a thin piece of plastic temporarily.
I read up and it seems there are different OE bolt handle shapes from remington. I had to grind a bit of material from the trigger well also as the remington trigger didn't fit in the stock(the pivot point of the safety was touching).
Any harm if I dremel 2-3mm for my bolt handle so I can remove the shim? I can't imagine so but I can't imagine why my box stock rifle doesn't fit in the stock either, so I just want to be sure.
