I have 2 R700 builds with another in the works. One is a trued and blueprinted 700 SA in 6.5x47 the other is a factory 700 SA with no machine work in 308. Ive noticed that i can get the trigger on the 6.5x47 a few ounces lighter than the 308. Both have timney calvin elites. If i try to turn the 308 trigger much lighter it will drop the firing pin when closing the bolt. Now the rifle im building a 223 that id like to have a pretty light trigger, around 6-8oz. Probably end up with a jewell or a bix n andy. Is there a trick to getting them to function with a light trigger? Is it in the trigger design or is there modifications that have to be done to the action like in the action timing?

On my calvin elites yes im turned the pull weight adjustment screw to lighten them but i havent messed with the sear engagement screw. Not exactly sure how to set seat engagement and didnt wanna mess it up so i left it alone
